The shag style of the 1980’s hairstyles is the most popular one because of its simplicity and flexibility to be worn in most occasions. Plus the fact that shags style can also be worn by both males and females.
The “Jeri curl” hairstyle is also one of the popular 1980’s hairstyles of the time. One sample of this is hairstyle is the hair worn by Michael Jackson during that time. However, the “Jeri curl” hairstyle is quite difficult to achieve as an ordinary hairstyle because the hair is needed to be straightened chemically. Because of the innovations of hair technologies in the 80s, the explosion of various hair products was introduced. Among these products are the gels, mousse and hair spray that were use to keep the hair stand out and up. With this, the hairstyle of crazy ponytails was introduced where the hair is tied on the sides of the head and styled with some big bangs. This hairstyle is a result of the 1980’s hairstyles experimentation.
The “New Wave” hairstyles of the 1980s were popularized by Mike Score during that time. He was the lead singer of the band named “A Flock of Seagulls”. For every concert of the band, the hairstyles of Mike Score were the much-awaited scene of the audiences because he gets to introduce new hairstyles.
Punk hairstyles of the 1980s can also be worn by both the males and females. To achieve this kind of hairstyle, the wearer needs not to care much about how the hair looks like. Because punk hairstyles are need to look hardcore, spiky, grungy and messy. This hairstyle can still be seen today.
