Avril started doing folk songs and dances etc but she chose rock because of its most productive nature. At the age of 12 Avril taught herself the guitar. From the earnings of her debut album she released “Complicated” at the age of 18. Avril Lavigne is five times Grammy award nominee, and have won MTV music awards, MTV European music awards and many more. Avril’s Album “Let Go”, was the 3rd top selling albums of the year 2002. She writes all of her own songs on her own individual experiences. For example the song “Losing Grip” is about her ex-boyfriend, and the song slipped up is about the death of her grandfather.
